Grand Annual Communication:
1. Please consider pre-registering. The Pre-Registration form is available as a printable download from the Grand Lodge Web site, www.grandlodgeoftexas.org. A donation to help offset the costs of Pre-Registration will be appreciated.
2. Enclosed are three copies of The Proposed Resolutions, Recommendations and Statements of Availability…December 4, 5, & 6, 2008, to be used by your Lodge. Study the issues and instruct your representatives how to vote.
3. Proxy Form. Please certify your Lodge Proxy in accordance with Article 4. Form 67 must be in the Grand Secretary's office by November 15. Have your elected Proxy carry a copy of the Form with him when he comes to Grand Lodge.
4. The program for the 173rd Grand Annual Communication is at the printers but the Texas Mason Magazine will have much of it in printed form. The Pre-Formal Ceremonies start at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, December 4, and are open to everyone. At 6:30 p.m. the Grand Master will present prestigious awards and the Waco High School Show Choir will perform at 7:30 p.m.
Grand Lodge business begins Friday, December 5, 9:00 a.m. The ladies are invited to a coffee honoring Vi Griffin in the Lower Floor of the Grand Lodge Building. A Ladies tour to Salado for shopping and lunch is available on a first come basis (52), and the deadline for tickets is November 18. At 7:00 p.m. the Grand Master assisted by the Committee on Work will present a Master Masons Degree in the main auditorium.
Grand Lodge business continues Saturday, December 6, 8:00 a.m. At 8:45 a.m. the DeMolay Legion of Honor will be conferred on M: W: Thomas Griffin, R: W: David Counts, and R: W: Gene Carnes in an open venue (not tiled) and the Grand Lodge will be called to labor before the 10:00 a.m. elections. At 9:00 a.m. Mary Counts and the 2009 Officer wives will be honored at a coffee in the Lower Floor. In addition, the ladies will be treated to a Ladies Hat Show in the Lower Auditorium at 10:30 a.m. The 2009 installation of Officers will commence at 2:00 p.m.
5. The City of Waco is furnishing shuttle buses again this year. See the enclosed map to board the shuttles in the parking area on 4th Street between Austin and Washington Avenues.
6. On Friday and Saturday, Texas Masons are encouraged to roam the main foyer and visit each other on the benches along the wall while renewing Masonic friendships - Statewide. The Grand Treasurer will arrange for free coffee and doughnuts from 7:00 - 8:00 a.m., Saturday, December 6 in the main foyer.
